Cabarete Living – Where your beach vacation feels more like home
Cabarete is probably one of the most happening places on the planet. Great surfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, amazing beaches and throbbing, Caribbean nightlife. Life here is good!
View Larger MapCabarete Beach Hostel – directly on the beach and only a five minute walk from the center of town.
Local shop – or ‘Colmado,’ – a typical Dominican store selling fresh vegetables and fruit for your morning juice, along with other essential products.
Dominican Disco Bar – just a few steps from our hostel you can experience true local nightlife. This is no tourist spot – this is where the Dominicans go to party! Sit and watch, sip real Dominican Rum and, as the beat of the throbbing music begins to take control, join in with the locals and learn to dance Merengue and Bachata. And if you don’t know how, the warm Dominican people will be only too happy to teach you the basic steps.
Cabarete Police Station – you won’t find a safer accommodation in Cabarete than ours.
Janet’s Supermarket – only a five minute walk from Cabarete Beach Hostel. The biggest supermarket in town, selling everything you’ll need for your stay including international products. There’s also a money exchange inside and an ATM outside.
Pharmacy – selling exactly what you’d expect it to sell.
Laundry – offering an excellent, fast and value for money service.

Hospital – 24 hour service, excellent doctors and almost all types of medical insurance accepted
Bank – There’s a couple of banks and ATMs in town. These are Scotia Bank, BHD and Progresso. All offer exchange facilities for all major currencies
Ojo Disco Bar – a great place and very popular. Set over two floors, with one dedicated to Latino music. Thursday night is all Latin – perfect to learn or improve your Salsa, Bachata or Mernegue dancing skills. The second floor plays international music and has a lounge area
Lax Disco Bar – plays great music and a cool place to relax with a cocktail on the beach.
“Happy Surf” Wind and Kite Surfing Station – for those who want to try their hand at a new sport (or practice what you’ve already learnt)
